The Folk Dance and Song Group, otherwise known as the Folk Group, is a special interest section of the Camping and Caravanning Club. We are a national group split into Areas.
Our aim is to combine our love of camping and the outdoors, with folk dancing, singing, music and crafts.
A typical weekend with the Folk Group will involve all of these. We will generally play music and do craft on the field, and there will normally be a hall for a Saturday evening ceilidh.
Each Area will be slightly different – some will concentrate more on music, some on craft, depending on who is there.
The Folk Group also hold 3 national meets each year – our Easter meet is our showcase meet, with lots of workshops and dances – something for everyone to get involved in. Our AGM in June and our Autumn Gather in September are smaller meets, but are still a chance for everyone to meet up.
If you are interested in attending any of our meets, you will always be welcome, as long as you are a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club.
See the individual Area pages for a way to contact your local Area to see what is on near where you are.
